all around the plaza de armas the buildings including the enormous cathedral are painted in yellow. I think this is quite unusual for buildings like churches, government or other oficial buildings. As I found out it is because of the always grey sky, so yellow gives the place more contrast......I liked it very much, it has something special. |

AnnieLituma Thu Jul 31, 2008 17:57 UTC I went there and there is really nothing to see. Almost every guidebook says the truth about GM in Lima - almost everything is fake. Check out the tourist traps section! There are many good museums in Lima to visit! | la_beba Wed Aug 23, 2006 06:52 UTC Like my mum used to say: "viejos... los caminos!" ;o) | YolandaC Tue May 9, 2006 19:56 UTC Thanks for the tips - heading to Lima this July for two weeks. Once again thanks! | classicper Thu Dec 2, 2004 02:52 UTC Hi CHancay. I want to tell you that the buildings are painting in that special yellow because , it was one of the colors that used to paint when there was the spaniard colony. |
