Olympus and Beyond | View Over the Valley to Litohoro |
My journey to Litohoro (Litkhoro, Litchoro, etc.) brought me to the base of Mt Olympus. This mountain, famous for its Greek god history, also is the highest in Greece and is an amazingly beautiful climb. It is summited by numerous people each year, but is not to be undertaken by untrained, unfit people. At least one person has died climbing Olympus the past 20 years. It is a fairly easy climb, with no technical skills needed, unless you come during the off-season when there is snow to deal with. |
