Cafe Central is the best cafe in Vienna. The only problem is that everyone knows it and it is therefore touristy. In spite of that, it is still tops on my list because of its coffee, its ambience, and the fact that every afternoon they have a live piano player serenading you with classical music.

While lacking the ambience of Cafe Central and the pastry flamboyance of Sacher, Cafe Sperl is the best of both worlds. Its coffee is great and the cakes are every bit as good as Sacher's, in my opinion. It is a fair bit cheaper than either of the other two, which brings it up on my list as well. The coffee house itself is really old, but exquistely beautiful. It is definitely worth the trip. Try and go on a cold winter day, it really made mine great mornings!

    Sacher: Hotel Coffee... ummm

Yes, I am suggesting you go to a Hotel for coffee. Yes, I am sane. This hotel / cafe is one of the most famed, because of its chocoholic- nightmare creation, the Sacher Torte. Its basically created by the devil to make you fat. It is an amazingly rich desert cake, that if eaten in large enough quantities can give you clogged arteries within 20 minutes. I recommend eating 4 and testing my theory. Even if you fail to clog your arteries, at least you will have eaten your cake too.

    Grinzing & Heurigen: Grinzing Grubbing!

I was recommended to the Grinzing, which is the most famous and touristy one Heurigen in the city. Truthfully, its just a lot of eating and drinking in a cool setting.

    So, obviously I loved it!

Basically one massive buffett, with roast chicken, barbecue-chicken, Schnitzel, Schweinsbraten (pork), you are encouraged to drink the house wine, which I whole-heartedly recommend.

And if you are looking to clog an artery or two, try the desserts.

    Favorite Dish: All the meats
    The wine
    And the chocolate torte/cake/pie thingy
