The D-Day Beaches and Museums - Basse-Normandie

My interest in WWII brought me to this most important place in that times history. The lore remains even after 60 years. and rightfully so. With the Allies invasion, here at Normandie, the tide of the war was turned in their favor. Many men lost their lives, on both sides, sadly. Movies try to make us "re-live" what went on here. But, Saving Private Ryan, and movies like it, will never be able to capture the horrors of those days. We can only come here to pay our respects to those who fought and died for all of us, and to try and learn our lesson from history's horrible messages.
