Its hard to pick my favorite portion of the Italian coastline. Is it Amalfi or the Cinque Terra?? Well, I decided long ago that it didn't matter. Each has its bright spots and then brighter spots. You really can't find much wrong with either place. Both are wonderfully picturesque villages set amongst the sheer cliffs, on the west side of Italy's coast. Each has wonderful seafood to offer and local cuisine specialties. Nightlife is fairly non-existant in both places, although Positano has a few good options. But, for me, that is a plus, a great part about these places. Quiet relaxation along some of the greatest coastline on Earth. |

depenny Mon Sep 4, 2006 00:11 UTC I'm with you on that. Great scenery, good pizza but a pity about Italian drivers and their egocentric and antisocial habits. | iandsmith Thu Jan 6, 2005 10:11 UTC As someone once remarked, "Comparisons can be odious". Both are great in their own right! Nice stuff. | ettenaj Tue Mar 30, 2004 23:36 UTC The Almalfi coast need one say more? | ncfg Tue Mar 30, 2004 10:06 UTC I loved your page, as you say "You have to see it, feel it for yourself", it is true, i have to go there!!! |
