A trip to Naples or the Amalfi Coast would not be complete without a day trip to Pompeii. It is one of the cooler sites in all of Italy. The well-preserved streets, stadiums, frescoes and homes really are amazing to see.

Jason, excellent work. The vital information alone is incredible. Great history background. Your commentary entices the reader into believing she is right there with you. Pompei, for me, was a great experience; now, you brought it back vicariously.

4euros Cokes? that sounds like standard at-the-gate-when-you-have-no-other-choice fare! our rip off here was with the crappy umbrellas we had to buy, then of course the rain stopped as soon as we got through the front gates...;-P
