  • I can not even begin to say how much I enjoyed Ostia Antica. I believe it to be better than Pompeii. I spent the better part of 4 hours roaming around the well-preserved streets, markets, stadiums, and restaurants.

    Outside Rome: Villa d'Este

  • Just a short 30 minute bus ride outside of Rome lies Tivoli's Villa d'Este. The villa itself is beautiful because of its frescoes and view over the countryside, but nothing comares to its gardens and waterfalls. The grounds outside are one of the most beautiful sights in Italy. The well manicured hedges and lawns with winding paths are filled with the sounds of the exquiste waterfalls. Numerous grottos and pools await you and should not be missed.

See my Tivoli page more more info.

  • A cool look back at one of the ancient Roman getaways, Villa Adriana was a 2nd century please palace for Hadrian. Large ponds, temples and theaters are among the impressive views here.
While this is considered part of "going to Tivoli", it is quite a distance from the city proper and Villa d'Este.

Less than a hundred Euro for a black pinstripe suit. I'm impressed. But, what's with the Starbuck's in your hand at Feltrinelli?!
