My first non-North American city! Its only fitting that my first page of my trip to Europe and beyond is Rome. My first steps on this Earth, not on North American soil, was in Roma. Arriving at Fiumicino, I quickly took the train to Termini, boiling over with as much excitement and anticipation as someone can possibly have. I have to admit that the city far exceeded all my anticipations. From the roving gangs of Vespas, to the fashion triumphs and disasters, Rome was the best place to start my trip. It is a contemporary city melded with ancient ruins. An amazing contrast. |
