Getting TO/AROUND: Definitely the most friendly and welcoming airport I visited on my trip was Changi. That says alot, seeing that I arrived at 2 AM. The MRT doesn't start working until 5:30, so I had some time to kill in the airport. Equiped with free internet and video games inside the passenger terminal and a Starbucks outside... lets just say if you give me coffee and video games and I am a happy man. The immigration personel reminded me of meeting a long lost friend they were so nice and happy. The shopping is excellent, and the airport itself follows the route of Singapore in being about as cleanas you can get.

'Mode': TO,AROUND
Category: Subway/Metro
Getting TO/AROUND: The cleanest and one of the more efficient metros you will ever ride is in Sinagpore. It is a fabuloous and economical way to move around the city and its attractions. With stops near every single attraction, I am not sure why you would want to rent a car in Sinagpore, except if you are driving out of it. It can get a bit crowded on some lines at rush hour times, but I found it to be a delight to use.

Category: Subway/Metro
Getting TO/AROUND: The EZ Link card will be your ticket to ride the MRT. There are kiosks at every station that take your money and dispense a magnetically read card that you tap on the appropriate space at the turnstile. Each time you buy a single ticket an additional dollar will be charged. You get this back when you exit the turnstile at your destination, by going back to the kiosk and obtaining a refund. Everything is in English and super-easy to understand. For extended stays you can decide to purchase a card that allows you to put certain amounts of credit onto a card, which you keep until the credit is used or until you cash it in for a refund. This convenience will cost you S$5.

Category: Bus
Getting TO/AROUND: Most buses from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur leave from the Lavender Street Bus Terminal near the MRT station of the same name. There are many bus companies that make this trek and about 5 of them are based at this station. Your basic air-conditioned fare will run about S$25-30. The journey take about 6 hours and there is a normally scheduled stop about 3 hours into it. The buses here for the two trips I took were of decent condition, excluding a broken bus that was exchanged later in the trip. Major companies include: Transnational Sdn. Bhd. 03-2947034 Plus Liner Sdn. Bhd. 02-62565755 Supercoach Sdn. Bhd. 02-62947711 Normal departure times: 8.00 am 9.00 am 4.30 pm 6.00 pm Obviously, these schedules and prices can change, so check as early as possible.
