The province of Ontario is a land full of contrast. You find extended farmland in the south and endless woods in the northern part.
Nature attracts you with lots of calm lakes, rivers and forest and on the other hand bothers you with armies of mosquitos and black flies during the summer.
You can find busy cities like Toronto and the Canadian capital Ottawa as well as nice little villages and attractive small towns.
The population is a variety of immigrants and especially Toronto is a melting pot. There are all sorts of races, cultures, languages and religions and it seems that they all live peaceful together. |
| Indian Summer - an explosion of colours |
| | A visit to Ontario should be done in late September and early october. Normally the weather is still nice and you can see the Indian Summer. The colours are fascinating. |
| | And take enough time for your trip. There is so much to see and the distances in this huge country are enormous. |

HORSCHECK Sun Dec 3, 2006 17:05 UTC Bernd, gorgeous little page with some nice photos. Brings back memories of my days in Ontario. I visited Toronto, Niagra Falls and Ottawa. See you in two weeks ... :-) | gilabrand Wed May 17, 2006 08:53 UTC My family used to rent a cottage in Ontario every summer when I was little. | Nemorino Thu Sep 15, 2005 11:03 UTC Happy birthday, Bernd! Nice tips and photos here. An uncle of mine used to have a cottage on a lake (but in Wisconsin, not Ontario) and we all spent our summers there when I was a child. | tini58de Tue Jul 5, 2005 09:42 UTC What a nice destination - great page as usual, Bernd! |
