The first tour my wife and I made outside Canada was to Ireland -- we loved it so much we returned two years later. We first went in 1999, and couldn't wait to return. The quaint Irish pubs, the music, the people and the countryside will be forever in our minds. If you have the chance to go, don't miss Galway City, the Cliffs of Mohar, Killarney, the Dingle Penninsula and the Ring of Kerry. Although the "Blarney Stone" at Blarney Castle is famous for 'kissing the stone to receive the gift of eloquence" we found it rather difficult for a senior or disabled person to climb up to (over 100 feet up!!). Ireland is changing quickly with the introduction of the Eruo, so if you wish to see the "real Ireland", book your trip before it changes too drastically. You still can watch men toiling in the moors, collecting peat. Generally, the people are 100% friendly and the prices are fairly reasonable.
