During the summer of 1996 I was working in Austria near the Slovak border. Many times I was sitting on Braunsberg near Hainburg enjoying the view down on the Danube and Devin Castle. In the distance Bratislava`s new bridge, the castle and the apartment blocks of Petrzalka were visible. My Austrian colleagues advised me not to cross the border with my car, because it would certainly be stolen. What a nonsense! Anyway - one rainy Sunday afternoon I crossed the border and it was the beginning of an very exciting summer!
Exploring Bratislava and the eastern parts of Slovakia became my favourite activity during Sundays. Since that time I regularly return to `Mesto Miero` (City of peace).
