The village of Liwonde is a gate to "Liwonde National Park" Its located at the Shire river a few kilometers north of the lake on the mainroad from Lilongwe to Blantyre. Its on the border between the Southern and Central Region of Malawi.

No more hippo's around in the Shire River near Liwonde ?!?! So I was lucky, to be there in the time they were stil there.
