Bahir Dar

by frockland - last update: Sep 5, 2004

Palm lined alley
Bahir Dar is the largest town on the southern shore of Lake Tana, Ethiopia's largest lake. Its a quite attractive city with palm lined alleys and some good panorama views on the lake. It is also the base for visits to Tis Abay where the Blue Nile Falls are and Lake Tana's many monasteries.
Bahir Dar is a good place to relax for a couple of days. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and some fine places to stay that invite the traveller to have a rest.

Nice page. Why can't you take photos on the bridge? Too bad water was low when you went to Blue Nile Falls.

Great to see your Bahir Dar page. I did found a internet cafe with CD writer at the main street, not far from the Dib Anbessa hotel.
