"The Paute River Valley" Paute by namastedc

Paute Travel Guide: 1 reviews and 3 photos

Paute is definately off the beaten path. It is about 40 minutes from Cuenca, and about the same from Ingapirca.

This is a place to go if you really want to get away from it all. Villages like the one in this picture rarely see tourists pass by, and you may find yourself as much of an attraction as the sights are attractive to you.

This is one of the things you really don't see in cities anymore.

Maybe that's a good thing....

In this area, there are still many of the mud-insulated houses - this one was two stories!

The village looks nice if you want tranquility, but if tranquility is what you want it doesn't sound good with the bus loads of school children coming to Hosteria Uzhupud.
