I have been here twice and am going again in Aug 2002.
I love this city it is my joint favourite place I have been to along with California.
so much to see and do I could go on for days. If you haven't been yet go...book it now LOL.
Seriously though it really is a fabulous place.
There are places to be careful in:
St. Georg this is a poor looking area with prostitutes and drug users around. It is an area I did not feel 100% safe in.
The area around the train station (one of the roads from here leads to St. Georg) is also of a similar atmosphere with drunks and drug users. I did see in one U or S bahn station someone injecting drugs.
Do not let this put you off though as overall it is a city I feel safe in.
The Reeperbahn also feels safer than the Red Light area in Amsterdam |
