Favorite Thing: If you want to have a look at the centre of the city from a privileged point of view, then you have to step on the Altare della Patria. Rome looks super from up there!!!

Favorite Thing: Castel Sant'Angelo was built by the Emperor Hadrian (117-138) as a Mausoleum. It became a fortress with the Emperor Aurelian. In 1277 the Pope Nicholas II connected the Castle to the Vatican through the famous corridor. So the Popes used it as a fortress and as a prison and a place for torture.

Favorite Thing: There's not much to say about this super super famous fountain... It's too famous to add something new and original to its story, so I will just refer the most frequent comments I've heard from tourists and friends when finally seeing the fountain... "Wow, it's so big, while the square is so tiny!!!" or "It's amazing how you can find such a wonderful masterpiece around the corner...". :-)

Favorite Thing: Originally designed by Bernini, the Palace was completed by Innocentius XII to host the Tribunal. Montecitorio is almost untouched and it is now used by Camera dei Deputati, one of the two Chambers of the Italian Parliament. In front of Montecitorio you can find the remains of a column erected in honour of Antoninus Pius and his wife Annia Faustina.
