I lived in Dallas from 1991-1996. The city is very cosmopolitan. Also what is cool is the presence of the Cowboy culture - from C&W Dancing to steak houses. There are also a lot of different night spots such as Greenvile, Addison, the West End, Uptown and Deep Ellum; not to mention that one can also travel to Fort Worth. Dallas also has a ton of shopping. The downside of Big D is that there really isn't that much outdoor stuff (i.e. hiking), and the only real designated spot for recreation is a small man-made lake area called White Rock Lake. So it's a greaty city unto itself, though as mentioned kind of light on outdoor activities. |
| | Reunion Tower is a 'landmark' of sorts in Dallas. It present a great view of the downtown area including the Sixth Floor and Dealey Plaza. |
| | Although downtown is not as hustle and bustle as other cities, I found it to be a very interesting place to walk around and see. There are a variety of old churches and buildings amongst the newer skyscrapers. |
