Visit Bohinj

Refreshing and scenic hiking. Bohinj is a short (i.e. 30 min) bus ride from Bled. There is a lake, town center, and easy access to hiking. Although I did not make it to a waterfall, I did hike along an interesting river (as shown) which had unusual rock formation. Also, although it was August there was refreshing coolness that was in the air via the coldness of the mountain water.

Directions: I had found a schedule on the web, though at first it was confusing. I did email them and received better information. The site looks improved as to what days the buses run. Buses run on the hour.

Walk Around the Lake

Both scenic and relaxing. I happened to arrive to Bled on the opposite side of town via a local train, and so I walked around the lake to arrive to the town center. The path shown in the picture extends (at least) around the right side of the lake. Although not shown here, in the morning rowers are sometimes on the lake. At the far end there is also a boat house.

View from Castle Bled Castle Review

Hike (or drive) from the city up the castle. The view is cool as one gets a panoramic view of the town also the mountains. There is a restaurant with outside seating, and one can tour the castle if interested.

Directions: 15 minute walk. There are paths that lead from the lakeside. It was a moderate hike.
