I LOOOOOOVE Budapest. I really can't say enough. Its such an interesting city, especially if you compare it to its sister of the Autria-Hungarian Empire-Vienna.
Its one of the few places that hasn't started to be ultra americanized (although there were the omnipresent Burger Kings). Its also seems less austere than some places...
There is something so strange about all of these beautiful baroque buildings with crumbling facades... The edge of destruction isn't quite as sharp as the unreconstructed parts of Berlin...you can see the scars from its battle wounds, but you can also see the healing. I don't know. But I do know that I loved it here. |
