Location and price were important in choosing where to stay while in Las Vegas - especially since this was my first visit in July of 2000.
Bally's is in a great location. It's practically in the center of the strip and close to some cool attractions (Bellagio Water Fountain Show, Eiffel Tower, the mall in Caesars Palace).
It's a bit older then the other hotels, therefore it's not as expensive as the newer hotels such as Bellagio, Paris Paris, or Venetian.
There's also a free monorail connected to the hotel.

My second trip to Las Vegas was in July of 2003.
We bought a bus tour package from San Francisco to visit Yosemite, Las Vegas, Hoover Dam, & Grand Canyon.
The hotel we stayed at was the Riviera. It's a decent place, however, the location isn't the greatest. It's at one end of the strip which can make or break you if you don't like to walk far distances.

My third visit to Las Vegas, we stayed at Lady Luck Casino Hotel located downtown adjacent to Fremont Street. I was kind of horrified when I found out we were staying at Lady Luck but it didn't turn out that bad athough I don't recommend anyone ever booking a room here unless they really have to.
It's not the newest and fanciest hotel but it was okay for a couple of nights. The only plus side was that it was really close to Fremont Street.
Rode the CAT (bus) to the strip every night. Beware the sometimes scary people on the bus.
If you're planning a trip to Las Vegas, try to book a room on the Las Vegas Strip. I recommend Bally's for it's great location.
Unique Qualities: Nothing unique about this place.
