Warnings Or Dangers: 1. Do not give money to anyone...
  • Tip Rating:
  • 1. Do not give money to anyone who claims to have lost their wallet and needs bus fare home or someone who has run out of gas an needs money (two well known scams)

    2. Do not give money to beggars..they only spend it on alcohol which only makes them more abusive and agressive.

    3. Avoid the Toronto Eaton Centre...full of tourist trap stores, pick pockets and youth gangs

    4. Stay on the paths inparks (Sometimes beggars and homeless (i.e. ex-psychiatric patients, drunks) sleep in the bushes...they won't bug you but you may startle you)

    5. Do not shop in the stores on Yonge Street (excpet for record stores). They sell crappy goods at inflated prices. The only people who shop on Yonge Street are tourists.

    6. Avoid Moss Park, Allan Gardens...full of drunks and junkies.

Toronto is one of the safest cities in the world...as long as you take a few precautions
