Restaurant Name: Arc en ciel

The restaurant is nice, even if nothing special atmosphere-wise. The food however is the best chinese you can eat in Hannover. The chancellor's favourite chinese as well ;-) and the prices are quite affordable as well.

Favorite Dish: The dim sum is excellent, the duck, chances are every chinese dish you fancy will be authentic and excellent. Stick to the chinese specialties though, as the card also includes vietnamese and thai.

Restaurant Name: Shalimar

If you're in the mood for Indian food in a nice atmosphere, I recommend Shalimar. Additionnally, the prices are quite affordable!

Favorite Dish: The samosas, all the different curries and of course the naan bread

Restaurant Name: Shogun

Definitely the most romantic restaurant I know in Hannover. Dimmed lighting, red hues, tables not too close to one another for privacy, at least for dinner.

Unfortunately Shogun closed..

Favorite Dish: The duck is the specialty by all means. You can order it in different sizes (quarter/half) and with different sauces on top of the crispy skin.

Restaurant Name: Chimú

In a warm and nicely decorated atmosphere, this bar restaurant owned by a Chilean woman is a nice choice to have dinner and drinks in the center.

Favorite Dish: My personal favourites are the tacos as an appetizer and the corn pie as a main dish. As for wines they have a very good selection of Chilean and Argentinian bottles.

Restaurant Name: Fratelli la Bufala

I have tried many Italian restaurants in Hannover but was always disappointed when I got my pasta overcooked. It might be silly, but for me pasta al dente is a clear sign of authentic italian food, which I finally found at Fratelli La Bufala, a typical charming italian restaurant one block away from the Lister Meile street. The pizza is also excellent, cooked in their stone oven.

The atmosphere is nice and trendy too (the restaurant has been freshly renovated), the manager and waiters very friendly and very italian =)

Favorite Dish: All the pastas, all the pizzas!
