Nightlife Spot: Delic
The Delic is located in the Plaza de La Paja, a charming little square in the central neighborhood of La Latina, one of my favourites. The summer terrace is a lovely place to spend the afternoon or evening, as well as the inside bar which by the way serves a pretty decent mojito. The tapas are also excellent... The crowd tends to be local and trendy.

Nightlife Spot: Dekonya
The Dekonya is an essential nightlife spot. It's a dim litted bar with colorful walls and a long hallway that takes you to a 'backroom' with a dance floor. Trendy and cool. Fun fact: its name means 'as a joke' ;-)

Nightlife Spot: Warhol's Club
When 5am comes around and you feel like the night is still young, Warhol's Club is a pretty good choice. It remains open till 10am (noon on Sundays), doesn't charge you cover to get in, plays pretty decent music and has a pretty nice crowd and a central location. It is a bit of a meet market of course, but a decent one, besides what else can you expect after all at that point of the 'night'.... I'll see you there cause I have this strange feeling that it just might become one of my usual hangouts =P

Nightlife Spot: Sala SOL
Whenever I am in the mood to go to a nighclub, Sala SOL will always be my number one choice. The place is simply great, the music always good, and the atmosphere simple and relaxed. No snobish stuck up people are ever around and people are just themselves. No dress code either. No stupid choosy doormen at the entrance either. The club closes at 6:30am. There is an entrance fee but it includes a drink (can't remember exactly but I believe it's 8 euros per person) and it is highly worth it.

Nightlife Spot: El Viajero
El Viajero is a great bar and restaurant in the very cool La Latina district of Madrid. Set on three floors, you can choose which of them better suits your mood: downstairs have lunch or dinner at the cafe/restaurant; on the 2nd floor have a drink or various in a bar ambiance; or go upstairs to the wonderful terrace on the 3rd floor and get an aerial view of this artist's community while enjoying a tapeo or a drink. A little more expensive than average, but so worth it!

Nightlife Spot: Ars
Located in the gay and trendy district of Chueca, Ars is a pretty new and trendy lounge, beautifully decorated. Colourful and dimmed lighting, mattresses and comfy sofas, and laid-back atmosphere. One little piece of advice though: do not sit near the ice machine at the bar as it makes a very disturbing and loud noise every time the waitress makes a mojito. And people seem to be drinking a lot of them these days ;-)

Nightlife Spot: El Mago
El Mago (read The Wizard) is a charming small bar in the Malasaña district open till late. It's basically composed by a bar, that almost takes up all the space, but if you're lucky you might find a comfortable seat in one of the cute little niches behind... some of these offer you a pretty romantic setting ;-) Drinks are cheap too, so it's a pretty good place to go to relax a bit before heading to the afterhours to dance yourself away.

Nightlife Spot: La Fabrica de Pan
This bar is a classical of the Noche Madrileña (Madrid Nightlife). As its name reveals, it was built in an old bread factory, which is why you'll find the old oven in the back. Other than that, you'll find good music, a trendy crowd and good decent drinks like they know how to make in this country! =)
