I assume that most Americans come here to visit the historical places. For me, it was a very nice way to learn a bit of the US history, and at the same time to enjoy the beautiful nature. I'm not used to such open spaces, nice forests and especially the deers and groundhogs around!!
You may begin the day at the park's Welcome Center, where an 18-minute film about the Revolutionary War and the winter of 1777-78 is shown for free. You can walk or bike a 5.1 miles trail through the park (beutiful landscapes), or drive along the park road and stop at such sites as Washington's headquarters, Washington Memorial Chapel, etc.
.
The soldiers of Washington lived in huts like this while thier training on the winter of 1777-78. It sure was a really hard experience, even according the Park Visitors Centre info, these huts were a great improvement at its time: before, soldiers used to sleep outdoors in the rain, snow or sleet!
Beautiful nature and nice inhabitants!!

Nice tips! We learned about Valley Forge in school, of course, but I have never been there.
