Everything was so different to what we were used too, making every vacation day full of new experiences. Everyone was so nice (even being unable to understand them, but smiles and signs made it!). Everything was so clean, and the country so safe. Public transport... the best in the world I guess.

Why I want to return

Yukatas and last-generation cell phones

After 20 days around Japan, we had the feeling we just started to see it. We want to come back someday, and explore further more, to the North, or to the smaller islands, and to visit the many major sights we had not the chance of see this time, as well to re-visit some places

Why I could not live here

Blade-runner moment in Osaka

Even I felt in love with Japan as vacation destination, I do not think I could live there for long. Too hectic. Too different philosophy of living: too many working hours, too different social life (or lack of). And....everything was so "perfect" that was a bit enervating sometimes!

Pros and Cons

Pros:Easy to move around, safe, clean, beautiful, food, sights....
Cons:there are some, but not major ones (at least for a short stay)
In a nutshell:Addictive!

great main page - Ive not been to Japan yet but am getting myself to the idea! would love to get up and see the islands and rural Japan - and the cherry blossoms! all the best to your return trip there one day!

I love Japan, and used to live there. It was a wonderful experience. It is such a unique place! I love it!

Looks like you had a great time in Japan Isa! I had a very nice summer too - since Karlsruhe I spend 1week in Iceland and 2 in Poland, Bornholm and Skåne. Ttys

Have to agree with just about every thing you say - especially as a nice place to visit, but... Much too frenetic!
