Land of rising sun.... and electrical nights!

by Belsaita - last update: Aug 27, 2008

Maikos in Kyoto
Everything was so different to what we were used too, making every vacation day full of new experiences. Everyone was so nice (even being unable to understand them, but smiles and signs made it!). Everything was so clean, and the country so safe. Public transport... the best in the world I guess.

Addictive.... was the word
Yukatas and last-generation cell phones

Why I want to return

After 20 days around Japan, we had the feeling we just started to see it. We want to come back someday, and explore further more, to the North, or to the smaller islands, and to visit the many major sights we had not the chance of see this time, as well to re-visit some places
Blade-runner moment in Osaka

Why I could not live here

Even I felt in love with Japan as vacation destination, I do not think I could live there for long. Too hectic. Too different philosophy of living: too many working hours, too different social life (or lack of). And....everything was so "perfect" that was a bit enervating sometimes!

Pros:"Easy to move around, safe, clean, beautiful, food, sights...."
Cons:"there are some, but not major ones (at least for a short stay)"
In A Nutshell:"Addictive!"

So, you did your biggie in Japan... I bet that was fantastic! Nice start to your pages, Isa. So, now you are at the 'where next?' stage... am at that stage myself (love that feeling).

Looks like you had a great time in Japan Isa! I had a very nice summer too - since Karlsruhe I spend 1week in Iceland and 2 in Poland, Bornholm and Skåne. Ttys
