The Maya Indian culture coming right at ya! From the minute on that we arrived in this small town close to the border of Guatemala we felt the amazing Indian culture. For us it was our first meeting with the indians.
It was very funny to see that the local way of clothing always included a cowboy hat. Well at least for the men that is :-) It was a great experience to be surrounded by cowboys!
Copán is also known for it's Maya ruins. We decided not to go there because our trip to one of the largest ruins of the Mayans, Tikal in Guatemala, was still coming up.
We did some sightseeing here in the streets of this small, laidback town and we shopped a bit in the several souvenir shops. |
