Lago de Atitlan | Local cowboy at Lago de Atitlan |
This lake is beautifully surrounded by volcanoes and nature. The villages at the lake are well worth a visit. On our way coming here we, at one point, turned the corner of the mountain road and all of a sudden we saw the lake. It was absolutely breathtaking. It looked like a fairytale. The lake was located there all surrounded by mountains and volcanos and there was this mist hanging over water.... simply magnificent!
We did, besides the main village Panajachel, only two other villages: Santa Cruz, where we stayed at a hostel without electricity, and San Pedro, where we watched all the women of the village doing their laundry in the lake. |
