Getting TO/AROUND: if you have never traveled to a large metropolis that has an extensive subway system, paris is not a good place to start. on my recent european trip (May 2003) with my friend, we got our first taste of large metro system. we were first in total confusion as so many trains were interlinking between one another. it took us awhile, but you get a feel for it. after all getting used to it, the metro was a great way to travel. we bought ourselves a 3 day pass that lets you travel in all the zones in paris. some notes to the next traveler, keep an eye out for teams of pickpocketer. also, train strikes. i was warned about it but it didnt take it too seriously. the strike almost delayed our trip to germany because of it. the shot was taken on a late night. before the strike.
