    Getting TO/AROUND: Luxembourg, for all the small size of city and country, is a major European crossroads, which I guess is one reasion why it retains its status and its distinctive atmosphere and culture. Trains converge from Brussels, via the Ardennes, to the north west; from Strasbourg and Switzerland to the south, and from Trier, the Mosel valley and the rest of Germany to the east.
