Sports Travel: Walking trail from First to Bachalpsee

From the gondola station at First, it is an easy walk to Bachalpsee (return should be about 1hr 15 minutes if you don't stop). In late May the lake was still semi-frozen so I was a bit disappointed as I didn't get to see the beautiful reflections of the mountains. There was also a little snow on the ground making the walk a little soggy in some areas.
Equipment: Good footwear and sensible clothes. Lots of sun-block

We wanted to take the Marmot trail to get from First to Grosse Scheidegg... unfortunately it was closed, but we did venture some way along the trail before deciding to turn back and use the "more direct" route. In any case, we managed to catch glimpses of some marmots and a deer. Will definitely go back later in the summer for more animal spotting.
