Umbria is one of my favourite places in Italy. It is certainly one of the greenest regions I have been to. Highlights are numerous, with the most famous probably being the Basilica di San Francesco in Assisi. However, to really get to feel the heart and soul of the region, make your way round the tiniest of villages (where I promise you'll have a hard time trying to find a single foreigner), have a meal in a typical osteria and buy some of the local salami and cheeses.
It's a place that I will continue to go to, and I promise to build my pages up with more info and photos.

Thanks Kay for your suggestions :-)) I certainly try to see the sights you mentioned for Orvieto. I just MUST see this duomo and I also try and visit the caves :-)
Nice tips!
I love wandering about the smaller towns. Great pages. Pa
Was it gorgonzola di nonno you're talking about in Norcia's cheese? Make me laugh! Thank you.
How wonderful it would be to attend a performance in that Roman Theatre. The Basilica and Orvieto are wonderful. Fascinating about the caves. Interesting surrounding areas.
Nice overview and entree!
A great page. Please keep updating it.
Pleasent page, well done. Thanx.
Hi Kaz, interesting ruins there. Too bad you missed the under-ground caves! Have you been back since then? cheers, David
