It is a pleasant enough place to visit, best if you manage to avoid the masses of tourists from countries to the north of Italy who descend upon the area during the summer. You will be able to drive all around the lake, stopping at most of the interesting towns and villages well within one day.

Wow, Kaz, the winter picture of this Garda page is from one of my favorite spots.... The balcony over the Torri harbour (a few meters before, in fact)....
