I had a great time in Luxor in August this year. It was very hot but we still managed to see the sights. Luxor was a great base from which to explore Egypt. We were able to travel to Cairo on the overnight train to see the Pyramids, and also take a Nile cruise South to Aswan.
My favourite things in Luxor were definitely the Sphinxes, there were so many of them.

- Cons:Can be a little too hot in August
