Yes indeed, this island has only 50 inhabitants left! Torcello used to be a very important community though during he fifth century. Some of the monuments are well worth a visit, like the "Church of Santa Maria Assunta" and the "Church of Santa Fosca". A nice walk leads to the center of the island. |
