Nightlife Spot: Ratchadamnoen Stadium
We went to a Thai boxing fight in the Ratchadamnoen Stadium and even if you don't like the game, this is really worth the experience! It's great to see the Thai public gambling and shouting to encourage their favourite boxer. It is really safe for tourists or women, allthough the majority of the public are of course men. Make sure you go to a real fight, because in the main tourist areas like Phuket (Patong Beach), there are organized Thai boxing shows, in which you can sit comfortably on a chair, enjoying your meal. Has nothing to do with the real fights of course! I even heard that the "boxers" come to ask for money after the show!

Nightlife Spot: gogo-bars and other stuff
Patpong is famous for its night market ( see must see activities tip) and for its red light district. People outside the gogo-bars try to get you inside by means of flyers. It doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman, the flyers are presented to you anyway ;-)) I had a closer look at the flyers, in which they advertize shows like 'pussy pingpong', 'pussy banana', 'pussy chopstick', etcetera. I suppose you can imagine the kind of shows that are going on in there. Some bars have their doors open, so you can see the girls dance on the stage. I felt kind of sad walking through this area, knowing that most of the girls probably don't want to do this, but are willing to please us tourists in order to make good money ;-(((

Nightlife Spot: Khao San Road
Khao San Road is probably world famous for its backpackers guest houses. So, you can imagine the atmosphere going on in this area. During evening or nighttime, lots of street vendors selling food, drinks, souvenirs, ... Also lots of adresses where you can check your mail. It's very lively, but of course not very Thai, since almost everyone around here is a foreigner.
