Category: Airplane
Getting TO/AROUND: You can either go by bus from Bangkok to Phuket, but that takes about 14 hours or either go by plane. We chose for the second option. The flight took us about 1h30. We chose for Thai Airways and booked via the Internet. Domestic flights in Thailand are really cheap!

Getting TO/AROUND: Phuket is a small island and if you want to explore the island on your own, there are plenty of places to hire cars or motorbikes. It is really cheap! We hired a car for 2 days and paid about 28?! In Thailand, people drive on the left. It's not too difficult to drive in Phuket, just pay attention to the motorbikes that aren't always an example of excellent driving skill!

Getting TO/AROUND: For short distances tuk tuks are fine. They used to be very cheap, but in the main resorts like Patong, even short distances cost around 100 Baht. You should state your destination and agree on the price before setting off! Luckily, they drive more carefully than in Bangkok.
