Freiburg was my first and most lovely home in Germany. The small old town has that special something that makes you fall in love with it once you´ve been there. It must be because of it’s beautiful historical buildings or may be it’s the warmth of the “black foresters”, could be the unique water ways flowing through the streets of the town center on hot summer days, not to forget its romantic sight overlooking the majestic “black forest”. By and large, Freiburg is so delightful and lovely!!! Moreover it takes no time to explore the city and after which you feel like your part of it.
One of its symbols, is the famous and relatively large university which one can say is even too big for the size of the town. Thus Freiburg is also known as a university town.
Freiburg lies in the so called “drei Länder Eck” between Germany – Switzerland and France and forms one of three centers in the so called “Regio”. Thereby making it more than just itself, being in Freiburg simultaneously implies being in Basel or Strasbourg. The Regio plays an important role between the three cities: it is a symbol for a common culture, history, and lifestyle. |

Its funny to see that also other families have this tradition of going for a walk in the black forest on Christmas (or New year). | onlyjustine Fri Jan 16, 2004 22:05 UTC Europa Park is ok... geared towards a young crowd (children). Also, the rides are not very risque. | Henkster Wed Nov 26, 2003 12:44 UTC What a rainy intro pic! Lovely town! |
