Schlossplatz in autumn 2002
I have leaved here long enough as to adopt the swabian dialect. People are always amused whenever i use Swab words.

Hohenheim, my university harbours 2 of Stuttgarts tourist attractions, a beautiful castle (Schloss Hohenheim) and beautiful botanical gardens.

Stuttgart is supposedly most famous for being the home of the oldest automobiles in the world, Mercedes Benz as well as Porsche. Rumours have it that many a states visit to Stuttgart is attributed to the irresistable present of a brand new Mercedes.

However, Stuttgart offers much more than legendary automobile : beautiful squares, palaces, woods and parks, famous opera, not to forget its wne tradition and festivals which attract millions of visitors every year.

It enjoys a long tradition in viticulture which alone attracts over a million tourists in the region each year to visit the Wine village, “Stuttgarter Weindorf”.

When you pass by don´t miss the excellent Swab-cuisine especially the famous "Spätzle" and Swabian-Ravioli.

Join in the shopping on the Kingsway: Germans longest pedestrian presinct with 1100m.

Or are you in for romantic? Then visit Stuttgarts´castles: "neue Schloss", "Schloss Hohenheim", "Schloss Solitude"; Residenz Schloss"....

More still go see Stuttgarts modern Landmark, the "Fernsehturm" (TV tower): The first TV tower in the world to be built of reinforced concrete. It stands 217 metres high with A 4-level "basket" containing a restaurant and sightseeing platform at 150 metres above the ground.
