Escarpment Rift valley
Bujumbura capital of Burundi served as gateway and starting point on a absolutely wonderful trip up north in search of mountain gorillas.
The Rift valley makes for a tremendous sight once one gets to grasp it while still on top of the escarpment.
Running from Malawi up beneath the great lakes into Sudan it's so huge and wide one doesn't notice it.

How wonderful to see the hippos coming ashore by your hotel, looks like you had a fun time here. (~_~)

Cool destination. I did a project on this country. It does seem like a great culture. I hope to see more info soon! Cheers
