Nairobi's a place with mixed memories for myself. Usually it serves as hub or gateway with easy access to other southeastern African countries. At first it looks very modern from afar until after a rainshower you have to use the roads. Second looks at seemingly modern structures reveal a certain state of neglect. The tree fringed divider strips in the roads are used to burn trash... A place to assimilate to Africa on the way in. A place to relax and prepare for coming first world impact on the way out. Here amenities like reliable communication systems are easily available. Still remember when I had to fax 2 pages of insurance claim to Europe. 25USD Sir, Thank you. Damage suffered, a broken tooth due to a deep pothole hit enroute while yawning widely relaxed..
But thank god it was only a matter of days til we got to civilised Nairobi.
