Uncrowded with Preserved Natural Beauty We decided to visit Bonaire after reading about their dedication to preservation of the coastline and the large portion of the island set aside for a national park. The fact that cruise ships do not make a port of call to this island was a plus too. This was our first trip to the Caribbean and definitely not our last. From the salt flats south and the Washington-Slagbaai National Park to the north, a variety of landscapes captivated us. The snorkeling was incredible too. |
| | Relaxing is an Experience Easy to Get Used To We have always traveled vigorously to the point that we joke that we need a vacation from our vacation. This trip was our first where the majority of our time was spent reading books on the beach. It is something that one can get used to pretty quick. Bonaire has constant refreshing tradewinds from the east and the water is clear and warm. The shopping district in Kralendijk is sparse but the restaraunts are abundant and of good variety. |

rsulsona Mon Nov 5, 2007 15:34 UTC Unfortunately, It Rains Fishes is now closed. It has been bought by the owners of City Cafe and will be opened as something else. | TinKan Mon Dec 5, 2005 15:03 UTC Looks like a wonderful place for a vacation. The tips are great and so are the photos. Very well done. | darthmilmo Mon Nov 21, 2005 00:03 UTC I urge you to please reconcider the pic of your Night Snorkel adventure... it almost looks like he/she is touching the coral. Touching the coral can ceel the reef you visited. At least put a warning against touching coral. cheers, Fdo | diocletianvs Tue Jun 7, 2005 21:25 UTC Beautiful photos and useful tips. You did great job with underwater camera, and "creative use of corals" also looks interesting. |
