Excellent malaysian cuisine, the service and food is usually top notch (especially for an asian restaurant). The best part is that the menu has pictures of most of the dishes and so you won't be getting any surprises, even though pretty much everything here is really good. During mid-week they have good satay specials and if they just got the seafood order in get some crab ! Oh yeah, and the lamb curry is really good as well, vegetarians might want to try the gado-gado.
Favorite Dish: -Ayam Goreng
- be sure to check out the chendol for dessert
- ice coffee is also a must if your a coffee person
Directions: There are a few locations around the lower mainland, I usually go to the broadway or cambie one but there is a Tropika in richmond as well. If you haven't already sampled an ice coffee from Tropika he

Chili Club - great location !!!
Location, location, location !!!! Located on the false creek waterfront this excellent Thai restaurant not only has an outstanding a la carte menu but also offers a wicked buffet on sunday mornings. Tables are plentiful and the restaurant is big and well spaced out, seating shouldn't really be too much of an issue. If your a Thai curry fan you should check this place out !! Get the red curry chicken, my family seem to enjoy the exotic salads there as well so you should give those a try. I'll update my post in a bit once i get the exact names of the dishes ( i usually go in a big group picking the pad thai as my dish....heh ). The tapioca ~ coconut dessert is a nice way to finish your meal. Dishes range from ~ 10-15 CND, not too shabby !
Favorite Dish: Pad Thai - i'm a noodle guy, what can i say ? The fried prawns are also really good.... so is the chicken !!!
Directions: Get yourself onto Burrard St. bridge - get in the right hand lane ! At the end of the bridge hang a right and stay in the right hand land --> make another right at the first light (this should be like

Milestone's English Bay - what a view !!
This is definately one of those places where you go for the view, the food is good as well but the view is what really counts !!! Great setting and a totally hip & cas atmosphere, a perfect way to end your day shopping downtown !! Milestone's menu is filled with items such as pasta, steak, rice bowls, quesadillas and seafood - the ribs are pretty good. If possible snag a seat on the highly coveted patio ~ a sweet place to grab a drink with some friendz and chill !
Favorite Dish: Fire grilled garlic prawns (umm.....prawns), Belinis and Italian sausage ravioli ~ yum
Directions: There are various locations around the lower mainland but i'd have to say that the EB one is in the most prime setting (some of the other ones do have nicer finish though). If your coming across Burra

- first off, although the food is good, part of the reason you'll be heading over to this joint is because of the fine lookin' hunnies that run this joint....(something for everybody, *winks*)
- they've got your regular assortment of goodies, such as pasta, steak, salads etc., but they've also got some internationally influenced dishes such as Chicken Tandoori, asian rice bowls, gyozas and other goodies...
- dinner for 2, including a couple drinks, will run you about
Favorite Dish: - California Shrimp Pizza
- grab a milkshake as well
Directions: - there's actually Earls' restaurants all over the lower mainland, but i'd say that the one to check out would be the WestBroadway @ Fir (Tama Sushi - excellent japanese - happens to be across the str

Fortune Garden - a must eat !!!
One of the better asian restaurants in Vancity without a doubt !!! Tasty, clean, and high quality chinese food !! Like many asian restaurants they've got daily specials that your server should tell you about, but i feel pretty confident ordering almost anything on the menu - i'm a big fan of spicy pork chops. They've got dim sum daily i believe and have quite a bit of seating. Oh, if your seafood person check out the spicy prawns and the crab. The prawns are deep fried and there are a variety of ways you can order your crab !! Cripy chicken with 'chips' is also really good....enjoy !!
Favorite Dish: Gotta be Peking duck or maybe the special 'order in advance soup' ( i think it's chicken based ) !!
Directions: Easy to find !!! If your east bound along Broadway it will be on your left hand side of the street right after the big Royal Bank building @ Granville Street. Westbound along broadway will enable you

Honolulu Cafe - for the traveler with late night cravings !!!
Honolulu is open just the same as a regular restaurant but once the clock strikes 9 the deals become really good ----> late night menu !!! Most of the stuff on their regular dinner / lunch menu is pretty cheap, like you can find stuff for 10 or less. However, the main event is the late night menu, it features tasty meals that are around 5 bucks ~ and it includes a drink !!! I recommend the HK ice tea, it comes with a bunch of lemon slices that you wanna be sure to smush up...ahh.... how refreshing !! Some of the servers there don't have the best english so you'll have to be patient, but there's always someone working who can speak decent english.... it's just a matter of getting ahold of them, that said, most of the dish names are self explanitory. Clean, no frills, TV's to watch, booth or table seating, tasty (somewhat greasy) food = good value !! Oh yah... and know that you can't really go wrong with a noodle or rice dish !
Favorite Dish: Hong Kong style fried noodles (or something close to that) & HK ice-tea
Directions: There are a couple locations, the one i go to is just off 3 road; i'll try and describe it to ya (address will come in the future) ! Ok, if your heading south down 3 road, away from Cambie St, Knight

Your best bet is to eat in, they don't serve your prototypical NYC pizza here, instead of being droopy they often make it cripsy which, to me is the best pizza in town. The garlic bread is a steal at a dollar and their heroes are awesome as well.
Favorite Dish: - ask for a special..... =P
- fifth ave is great !
Directions: I'll get the exact address later but if your heading eastward along westbroadway than it's on the 2nd block past McDonald St. on the right hand side of the road. There will be a faux Statue of Liberty

Funky, down to earth place where you'll find all sorts of people ! Good place to go for a cheap lunch, but watch out the Kits one can get really busy during lunch break. Apart from bagels you'll find things such as cookies, nanaimo bars, brownies, salads, fruit, soup.... you know stuff like that. I believe they also serve alcohol, but this is more of a coffee house type joint rather than a place to drink.
Favorite Dish: Cheesy onion bagel toasted with butter !!! & a Happy Planet - sunset beach...ahhh !!
Directions: There are several locations throughout vancouver: broadway @ larch (kits), university boulevard @ alison (ubc), cambie and ??? and a location on davie i believe. The kits and ubc location both have am

Quaint little restaurant located in point grey / kits that serves excellent thai food ! Though not exactly cheap, Montri's offers affordable prices and gives you rice for free (some places charge believe it or not) to go along with your meal, i'd say typical dishes will be around 9-13 dollars. The people working here are really friendly and because it's so small the service is great !!! Make reservations, especially if your party is bigger than 4. Expect high quality traditional Thai food !!!
Favorite Dish: Pad Thai - tasty, light and never gets old ! They also have tons of other dishes that i luv but i can't really remember the names....
Directions: Most likely you'll be heading westward along Broadway, Montri's will be on your right hand side of the street. Parking can be a bit of a problem around here so i'd suggest circling the block a couple
