I lived in Munich for 2 years before I moved to Rome. Its definitly a wonderful city to visit, particularly in the summer when the beer gardens are open and the middle of winter when everything is snowy and magical. Although it seems to be most targeted by tourists for its justifiably famous beerhalls and festivals, it boasts as well excellent museums, restaurants, and location. Muencheners have a reputation for being slightly stuffy, but, on the whole, I found everyone friendly.
