Out in the Korean Country side there is not much in the way of western hotels.. So, If you travel out in the rural areas, you will like need to stay in a Korean Style place... On entering your room, the first thing that you'll notice out here is "THERE IS NOT ONE STICK OF FURNITURE IN THE ROOM..." Just a bare floor with some mats that you roll out on the floor... Which is OK, except, Korean rooms are usually heated with hot water pipes that run through the floor. This creates some very hot spots on the floor. It is a fine art to be able to sleep like this... the key is being not to roll directly over one of the hot water pipes, lest you'll singe your eyebrows off...

iwys Thu Feb 9, 2006 04:57 UTC I enjoyed reading your tips and looking at your photos. Do you still keep in touch with the girl you went to Jeju-do with? I have just taken a very similar photo in front of that same sign at Hallasan, on a snowy day. | jckim Fri Dec 17, 2004 11:01 UTC Great memories tips!
