Located at the end of the Grand Canal, St. Mark's Square is the centerpiece of Venice. A Beautiful plaza, which is home to of the St. Marks Basilica and Doges Palace, it makes for an ideal people (and pigeon) watching. Just be sure to bring your wading boots, (or some days, snorkelling gear, perhaps...) as it is frequently underwater and slowly sinking... (Efforts are now underway to somehow try to "raise" the plaza....)

Oft pictured in postcards, Grand Canal is the "Champs Elysees" of Venice... A watery main street that is home to some of the finest buildings in the former city state. So, by all means chill the wine, hire the gondola, and slowly glide thru these waters as the sun sets over the city of Venice.... Oh Sole Mio !!!!

Feed the pigeons at the Piazza San Marco... ...And if you are photogenic enough, someone just might sneak up behind you and take your picture....

Venice is a great place to just wander around... Get away from the normal tourist circuit, and just lose yourself in the maze of alleys and bridges there. The crumbing old architecture can be quite photogenic....
