|  | I have to say that really liked Aswan. Quite a beautiful setting amongst the rocky islands, which are overlooked by ancient tombs on the Nile.
If you want to take that sail boat ride in Egypt, (and you will be offered this most anywhere you go) this is the best place to do it. Circling the river islands at sunset is like magic.... (and actually exciting, with the number of boats out on the river at sunset you will be amazed how that they don't collide with one another occasionallY...) |

| | Although, Aswan doesn't quite have Luxor's impressive list of must see Pharonic remains, it does have many great places to visit around town, especially the stunning Temple of Philae set on a river island just south of the low Aswan dam....
So, I'd recommend that when you are in Luxor, spent all of your waking hours touring the temples and valleys, but while in Aswan relax a bit and enjoy this beautiful city by the river...... |
