For old guys like me who like a little more comfort, head down the street aways to a place called the Central Hill Hotel. (the town is built on a series of hill tops.) Can't complain about the accomodations there at all, cheap, clean, and friendly.

If you stay here, tell them you know Ken, it might garner you a discount as I am kind of sort of related to the proprietors of this fine establishment...

Backpackers Hovel...

The original backpacker guest house in town is the Shin Sane, which is conveniently located right near the morning market. It is also conveniently located right in front of the Mosque, which negates the need for an alarm clock. (The morning call to prayer was pretty loud down the street where I stayed, so I am sure that it is booming up here...)

You can stay here cheap, and the staff is more than willing to help you out with excursions out into the wilderness...
