I suppose no KL page would be complete without them so here they are, t he Petronas Towers. You won't need any help finding them as they are visible from most any where in the city. (or county for that matter...) The Putra LRT line stops here, which is likely the easiest way to get out to the towers.

You will be surprised to find that the biggest tourist attraction in the capital city of this small Muslin country is a Hindu shrine built in a cave that was uncovered by an American. But such is life in multi-cultural Malaysia... Quite an interesting place, the caves themselves are quite attractive, with a large central cavern which the beams of sun light illuminate in unusual ways. Also with the hindi decorations and the horde of maraudering macaques monkeys running about, it does give the place an exotic feel. Located 15 KMs north of the city. Easy to reach by bus.

On the west side of Chinatown you will find the quite colourful Sri Mahamariamman Temple. Nice atmosphere around the temple, especially at night. I find it interesting that this temple was built in Chinatown and not Little India section of town, though... (Saw this in Melaka, too...) I suppose its an example of the religious tolerance in Malaysia which actually is quite evident.

Down in the centre of the old colonial district you will find the oft photographed Sultan Abdul Samad Building. For a really nice pictures bring your tripod and come down here at night, as the building and surrounding area is all lit up with decorative lights... (I didn't have the time for this photo op, myself...)

Probably the most attractive mosque in town is the Masjid Jamek, which is located in the colonial district. Located at the fork of the two rivers that flow through the city, it does make for an attractive setting for this striking white mosque. Easy to find... There are stops on both the Star and Putra LRT lines nearby... (of the same name, Masjid Jamek, conveniently enough...)
