The main reason tourists end up in Fremont is to visit Spiegel Grove, the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center. Fremont, itself, is a medium sized town featuring a wealth of late 19th century houses, large churches and a historic downtown just off the main train line. Spiegel Grove is in the south part of town and you will usually drive through much of it en route. Just take care to follow the signs as they aren't always obvious and there are several twists and turns involved.

Rutherford B Hayes has a house here??? Well, it is the hometown of my Grandfather, so we went to see that. Didn't know it had any other significance. Too bad I didn't read your page first !
